What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is Australia’s first national scheme for people with disability which provides funding for support and services directly to individuals.

Once you meet the requirements to become an NDIS participant you will become eligible to receive funding for supports.

Access Requirements

  • You must be between the ages of 9 and 65 at the time if submitting your application.
  • If you have a child younger than 9, an early childhood partner can provide supports to children before they apply, and let families know if the NDIS is right for their child.
  • You might be eligible if early intervention would substantially improve your functioning, or delay/decrease a decline in functioning for you or your child.
  • You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen who holds a Protected Special Category Visa.
  • Experiencing a permanent and significant disability or a developmental delay
  • You need to have been living in an area where the scheme is already rolled out.
  • You may be eligible if you need some supports now for your family to build their skills to help you.
